Aaaaand I didn't add this to the post when I wrote it, probably because I was happy with what I'd accomplished, but it's a terrible game. Pity the hard drive crashed and I lost the Macromedia suite; it would have been nice to make a mediocre game after the bad one.

Shands did not contact me soon. I did bump it back down, having lost all faith in my former doctor and suspecting that, no matter what else happened, I would not be in the emergency room again as a result. I'm doing well enough, I think.

I know the regexes could be much more concise and elegant. It works, it doesn't put a big load on the server, it's fast when the network responds quickly, I'm no longer worried about it. ^__^

Yes, that's a replacement monitor.

Pretty much the only things that ever went wrong with this computer were the sorts of things its owner should have known not to do.

Well, I was wrong about the twist (and glad of it). The series turned out to have a much, much more complicated plot than I anticipated, and to be frank it started to lose my interest around vol. 6 or 7 then seemed to flag a bit till vol. 11. I'm not sure what to make of it after all--I see a lot of weaknesses in pacing and suspension of disbelief, but the plotting was meticulous and the cat and mouse game entertaining enough.

This doesn't even get into the /Watchmen/ experience: reading it in high school, being largely unaffected by it (except for Dr. Manhattan's issue on Mars), remembering it as not terribly good. Then rereading it last month and finding that it was a completely different work from what I'd remembered: complex, intelligent, affecting, and immensely rewarding to close attention.
